Manage Own Account Settings

You can manage your own Launchpad account settings such as your first name, last name, password, time zone, and 2-factor authentication. You must be logged in with your credentials to manage your own account settings. Changes in the account settings are applicable from the subsequent login.

Manage Personal Details

You can edit your personal information such as first name, last name, e-mail ID and time zone at any time. First name, last name, e-mail ID, time zone can be edited if you are a local user. You can edit only the last name and time zone if you are a federated user.

When you edit the e-mail id, a notification e-mail is sent to the old e-mail ID, and a confirmation e-mail is sent to the modified e-mail ID. The purpose of the confirmation e-mail is to seek confirmation for the modified e-mail ID. You can confirm the modified e-mail ID by clicking the link provided in the confirmation e-mail.

Note: If you change an e-mail ID multiple times before you confirm it, the confirmation e-mail that has been sent to latest e-mail ID is considered valid. Even if you click the links provided in the confirmation e-mail to an intermediate e-mail ID, it is ignored by Launchpad.

If you have not received the confirmation e-mail, you can resend the e-mail to the modified e-mail ID by clicking the Resend email link seen below the Email field under Personal Details. This link is visible only if you have not confirmed the modified e-mail ID by clicking the link provided in the confirmation e-mail.

Manage 2-Factor Authentication

2-Factor authentication is available only to local users.

You can enable 2-factor authentication for your login, if 2-factor authentication is enabled at the organization level.  Once you enable it, you have the facility to generate a new key for yourself. When you generate the key, you can use it for the second level of authentication. A key and QR code is generated when you generate a new key. You can either use the key or scan the QR code with a time-based one time password app such as Google Authenticator or Authy. Google Authenticator or Authy can be installed on your smartphone. Google Authenticator or Authy generates a one-time password for you periodically. You can use this password for the second level of authentication while logging in to Launchpad.

IMPORTANT: You must update the date/time your smartphone over the Internet before generating the one-time password.

If you do not wish to use an app to generate the key, you have the option to have Launchpad generate a one-time password and deliver it to your e-mail ID.

To manage 2-Factor Authentication, perform the following steps.

  1. Log in to Launchpad
  2. Click your user name at the top right corner.
  3. Click the Account Settings link.

  4. Select the Enabled check box under 2-Factor Authentication.

  5. Scan the QR code. with Google Authenticator app.
The Google Authenticator app generates a one-time password.

  6. Enter the one-time password generated by Google Authenticator in OTP under 2-Factor Authentication.

  7. Enter the current password.

  8. Click Save.

You can use the OTP entered here for the second level authentication when you log in to Launchpad the next time.
